The AI companioon service Replika had been exploding in popularity but recently experienced a backlash after making adjustments to the personalities of it's bots and preventing the generation of NSFW messages or so-called 'ERP'.

The move appears to have been a response to accusations earlier this year that it's bots were generating abusive content. As a result of the changes, thousands of ex-users have taken to the Replika subreddit to console each other at the sudden grief many are feeling.
